"Whatever is built by the flesh will have to be maintained by the flesh. Whatever is built by the Spirit will be maintained by the Spirit." We often ask the Lord to remove anything that is not of Him. This is what that process looks like. Imagine that every item you have, everyone you know and everything you remember is stripped away. What will remain? What will grow up once again even if it is removed, without you even trying? That is the stuff that is maintained by the Lord. May everything that we are be built up in the Lord. Anything that we stress over trying to protect and keep... will not the Lord protect and keep all that is important to Him and to us?

Intoxicating

There is something intoxicating 
about his eyes,
about his smile,
about the way He wiggles his ears, flares his nostrils
and raises his eyebrows.

There is something intoxicating 
about the way He grabs me
and holds me
and puts me to His chest.

There is something intoxicating
about His heartbeat,
the way it throbs
beat
after beat
after beat.
It is beating
with passion,
with excitement,
with satisfaction.

For it is me
who is intoxicating
to Him.

When love stops being an idea, but permeates all of our being...
